What is a Pre-Authorized Transaction?
A Pre-Authorized Transaction is used to reserve funds from a customer. For example: a restaurant will swipe a client card as a pre-authorized transaction for the sale amount, and then return the receipt to the customer who can then add a tip. The tip amount is then added to pre-authorized amount to equal the total billing amount. The transaction is then closed.
NOTE: All Pre-authorized transactions must be closed prior to performing a Batch-Close. Pre-Authorized option is only available to sales performed via credit card |

3) Swipe customer credit card
4) Press OK
5) Input EXPIRY DATE

1) Select PRE-AUTH COMP
2) Enter PRE-AUTH REF# (found on receipt)
3) Press OK
4) If amount has changed Press CORR and enter the new total
5) Press OK
6) Verify amount
7) Press OK

Your Merchant ID is a 10 digit identification number that can be found on the top of your terminal receipts. These numbers usually start with 303, 403,or 404. |
